- Keep the Area Clean and Dry:
- Gently clean the area with mild soap and water. Pat dry with a clean towel.
- Avoid using harsh soaps, lotions, or powders on the biopsy site.
- Manage Discomfort:
- Over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help manage pain. Suggested doses: Tylenol 1000mg, Ibuprofen 400mg
- Applying a cold pack to the area for 10-15 minutes can reduce swelling and discomfort. Ensure the cold pack is wrapped in a cloth to avoid direct contact with the skin.
- Monitor for Signs of Infection:
- Watch for redness, swelling, increased pain, or discharge from the biopsy site. These could be signs of infection.
- If you notice any of these symptoms, contact the clinic.
- Avoid Strenuous Activities:
- Refrain from heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, or activities that may strain the biopsy site for at least one week.
