Tools to Improve Sexual Satisfaction

In March, we hosted a thought-provoking and open discussion at our Reclaim Your Pleasure sexual health event. This forum covered everything from libido and menopause to the often-overlooked Pleasure Gap—a disparity that underscores how women experience unequal frequency of orgasms during sexual encounters.

During the session, we explored actionable tools designed to enhance sexual satisfaction. Here are a few key highlights:

1. Your brain is your most important sex organ.

We recommend Dr. Laurie Mintz’s groundbreaking book Becoming Cliterate which provides insight on closing the orgasm gap. The Tired Women’s Guide to Passionate Sex, also by Dr. Laurie Mintz, is an invitation on how to cultivate desire.

2. Pleasure is challenging if it hurts. Lubrication goes a long way.

Two of our favourites are Canadian-owned brands – Epiphany and Iris. We sell these in clinic and would love to tell you more about them next time you are in office.

3. Pelvic Floor Muscle Training—an essential practice for improving sexual health.

One method we shared was using the Emsella Chair, a tool designed to enhance pelvic floor engagement, now a part of Lume’s pelvic health offerings.
